It’s been a busy week for Cymon’s Games, so batten down the hatches for… Wait, did I mention I can now drop posts to RR? How could that have slipped my mind? Oh yeah, because That was the start of a long week.

I’ve just finished a move from Colorado to Utah, which is only one state here but in parts of Europe the distance I covered would have me moving across countries, several of them if I chose the right destinations. But moving means that things my wife would categorize as “less important,”  like working on my favorite project website, had to be put on haitus. However the family is now moved in, things are (mostly) unpacked, so I can finally take some time for the Cymon’s Games, and this is what I’ve done this week:

  • Starting co-posts on RetroRemakes. (I spent entirely too long stealing graphics to make that banner this morning. I’ve got to simplify that process.)
  • I’ve finally decided what I’m going to do about the tutorial thing. I’ve added the category of “Resources” and whenever I find a good tutorial or learning resource I’m going to link to it.
  • I’ve also changed the “Columns” to “Editorial” which I will be using in coming weeks to rant on anything I want.
  • I fiddeled with keeping the most current program at the top using the sticky plugin for WordPress (like a webcomic), but it’s not going to work without modification. Anyone know a compitent php programmer willing to help out a brother?
  • There’s going to be a minor format change in program posts (which can be seen in this weeks program Bombardment) which will recropicate backwards as I update everything with…
  • www.cymonsgames.com is now registered and redirects to the page. This is not an attempt to distance myself from retroremakes but more of an attempt to simplify a verbose URL. In coming weeks I plan on re-compiling every program so that it includes a little blurb about the site at the end of the game, as well as changing certian relevent links.

6 distinct bullet points. That’s my definition of a busy week.

And to celebrate this monumental set of events this weeks program is… actually kinda lame. I don’t want to belittle the work of my own hands, but Bombardment was a pretty week concept when it was a BASIC program. I did what I could in the translation, and the addition of seeing the board after every move helps, but from a stragety standpoint it’s about as robust as a coin toss. Except with missles. Which is pretty cool.

However, Cymon’s Games isn’t about great games. It’s about giving you the code and letting you make it great. So go to, try out Bombardment and see if you can’t save it from itself.
