I have the Powah!

Boom boom boom, now let me hear you say wayoh… I say boom boom boom, now everybody say wayoh… etc. *cough* Here is a new port of the Amiga platform game Nicky Boom II for the PSP.

The sequel to Nicky Boom; this time Nicky must find out who has been removing ladders and blocking off caves in his homeland. The gameplay is essentially platform, with multi-directional maze-like levels. Beating the obstructions requires occasional brainwork – hidden ladders are easy enough to uncover, and there are lots of hidden sections to look for. The levels are colourful, and the game has a cute look making it appear suited to younger players. Mirrors are placed around the levels, which transport you to a random place.

Pretty standard far for the late 80s early 90s where almost every game was a platform game, but having it in portable form now will hopefully give the game a new lease of life. I think I vaguely remember this game but I was more an Atari ST boy and not sure if this was on out the ST. I was probably playing CHAOS at the time.

If you have a 3.xx custom firmware enabled PSP check out the game and see for yourself.

Ha ha this-a-way. Ha ha that-a-way.

Grab the game for your PSP from the Deniska PSP dev page.

Wow, I didn’t even know Nicky Boom had a sequel? There must be some reason for this glaring gap in my knowledge…
