Getting Your Game Listed

Help Us Out: Add your game to the showcase | Help us keep RR online

Hello, presumably you’re here because you want to know how to go about getting your game listed either on the front page of Retro Remakes or in our showcase.

All told, it’s pretty easy and won’t take you five minutes.

1. Join our forum.

The vast majority of our news comes from games posted in our Retro Remakes Feedback forum unless we stumble across one whilst browsing the internet. Due to the amount of spam that lands in my mailbox, I’m afraid we can no longer accept email submissions - so the forum is in all likelihood, your best bet.

2. Once you’ve joined our forum, please make sure you’ve read the Acceptable Use Policy and the Feedback Forum Rules.

3. Post your game

As a member of the forum, you gain access to (rather obviously) the ability to post and less obviously, the Retro Remakes Showcase (which is tied to your forum login).

If you’re looking for a news post, then post your game in the Feedback forum (making sure you follow the rules) and we’ll pick it up and add it to our posting queue and it’ll be posted as soon as possible. If after a few days we haven’t posted it, then we have a reminder thread here.

If you want your game added to our big list, then whilst still logged into our forum visit the showcase, select add a remake and follow the steps through for adding your game to be viewed by the public from our archive.

I know it’s a bit awkward, but it’s an extra step towards putting off fools and spammers who would otherwise attempt to clog the showcase up with rubbish. You can also use your forum login to comment upon showcase entries if you choose.

And that’s it! Pretty simple really. As long as you’re sensible and don’t post any shareware, you should be fine.

Have fun and hope to hear from you soon.

    Hello all you wonderful people!
Can I submit a game that I have created using ‘Game Maker’ or not?
    Cheers!

Hi there. I joined the forum about a week ago and am still waiting for the confirmation EMail.

So I can’t post up that I am currently remaking The Hobbit (1982 text adventure).

Is it broken or am I being rejected ?

    thanks,
    Jonathan.

Don’t see why not Terry, as long as it’s a remake I don’t care if it’s written in toilet duck :D And I’ll look into it Jonathan.

Cheers Oddbob. It’s not really a remake although it does feature a lead character that looks very suspiciously like Miner Willy !!

Aces, Terry - if it’s retro styled come and dump it in our forum. We’ve got a section just for stuff like that and I’m sure it’d be appreciated!

    Hi folks!

I’m still waiting (patiently) for a confirmation email. Any chance of being confirmed?

Hopefully it should be with you now, I’ve sent it again.

Please make sure you check your bulk/spam email folders just in case it has been file there incorrectly. ;)

I have manually set you to a registered user. Thanks for your patience. I don’t know where your confirmation emails got to - it’s a mystery.

Enjoy the forum and the site.

I joined the forum a few weeks ago & I haven’t received the email to activate my account. Any chance it can be done manually? Thanks.
