Wizball Retro Game Remake

When not ducking under trainers thrown at him by kids or pretending to be a video game critic, DrDerekDoctors actually writes remakes and games and stuff and things. Currently beating the international G-Force development time record by a nose, Wizball is DDD’s little project thats being put together with pixelly assistance from Mr Smila.

It really is looking very nice indeed, and if it keeps up the quality of Exolon (DDD’s last outing) then you can colour me from black and white to happy in a tic.

Super Obliteration Retro Game Remake

What do you get if you cross Pang, Asteroids, Turrican and Plasma? Nothing. Nope. Nothing to see here, move along…

Oh ho ho, of course you don’t get nothing. You get TCK’s Super Obliteration which no doubt you’ll have seen the screenshots, maybe even played the beta, or perhaps just watched the video… well, no more resign yourself to limited versions or gawping at someone else playing the game for it is finished, complete, done and doneded. Did you done it?

You can grab a piece of the plasmic action by harnessing the power of the internest within your minds. Concentrate, concentrate… and go!

Chirality

Chirality Retro Style Game

Chirality is a lovely little one switch reflex game by my fellow RR admin, The Codex with some nice bloops courtesy of the ever bloopy misanthropist GeeKay.

It may not look big nor clever, but its a brutally addictive little game and well worth a little looksy at. Is it Anti-Casual though? Thats what we want to know… *prods Goring*

Retro Rescue

Retro Rescue Retro Style Game

Things which are making sweet love to my eyes #1 - Retro Rescue is a work in progress game based on the laser disc style of games as made famous by Don “There are no cats in America” Bluth. Originally planned as a semi-sequel to Space Ace until the mighty hammer of copyright infringement came a falling, Karcreat has now revised his plans and is setting about his own adventure.

A noble quest indeed. Lets all cross our fingers and hope he can pull it off. Not literally, obviously. I’d hate for Karcreat to pull anything essential off. How would he go the toilet?

MTG Forge Game Remake

Hmm, I’m probably completely the wrong person to be posting about this as anything related to orcs, dragons and card games goes right over my head. Unless, of course, they involve flying Daleks with lasers and stuff.

So, yeah, I don’t really understand what these things actually are, and after trying this remake I’m still absolutely none the wiser - however, if a remake based on Magic: The Gathering is up your street, then I guess - this is the remake for you.

You can find the game tucked away on Sourceforge here and a rather quiet feedback topic here. Hopefully someone with a bit more nouse on these things can offer the author some support and feedback. Get to it, chaps!
