Thats not a hot sauce…

I have the proof!

Marginal whoring aside, I think its time for some more remakes.

WAtomic is a nice remake loosely based on Atomix and the KDE “classic” (Flynns words, not mine) KAtomic. The aim is to recreate the molecule shown in the window with the atoms on the left. Its a head scratching little challenge, and worth a peek at.

Ah, Little Eva and Kylie Minogue. There’s an image you don’t get every day. It must mean a Loco-Motion remake heading your way. In this instance, its a little bit of LoveLove. The game contains gratuitous shots of anime style panties which is one of those perversions that has always left me scratching my head (and not the lower one either). Still, it takes all sorts to make up this fine world we dwell upon. For those befuddled by having to scroll halfway down a screen full of text, here’s a Direct Link to the file.

Well, cycle my lights - its a Blockade/Lightcycles remake that parades itself under the guise of Armagetron Advanced. Sounds like a wonky Transformer to me, but hey, what do I know? More to the point, I think you all know the drill for a Lightcycles game, so I won’t explain it. Just click thru and enjoy. It’ll run on Windows, Linux and upon MacOS X jobbies.

My, what a lovely bike you have. You must be pleased to see me. Either that, or you’re about to ride on with X-Moto. Its a remake of Elasto Mania (Action SuperCross) that runs on Windows or Linux. Which is nice. Some enjoyable physics fun to be had.

That should keep you going for half an hour or so. Hope you enjoy them. And a big hearty thanks to all those who’ve donated so far, puts us in the clear for a couple of months now with not that much more to raise to see us through. Cheers people, its nice to know that we’re appreciated so much.

I totally blame Smila for this next remake, whilst not a true remake as such, Smila has combined Jet Set Willy with The Little Computer People and created something small but really rather pleasing. A Day in The Life is available from MerseyRemakes and all good record stores.

Clowns have always freaked me out, probably due to foolishly watching IT at an early age - waaaaa :( Anyways, that ghey McDonald’s clown freak sprung to mind when Jeremy Beadle (he has a gammy hand) notified me that his good friend Magnus Christensen has remade the Intellivision version of BurgerTime! Wooooo, Chris (can I call you Chris?) did this using nothing more than fat, rice and GM. Features 50 levels and an internet enabled 2-player game!

I’m turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so! Those crazy Japanese fools, always coming up with addictive and scantily dressed female powered games. Here’s a really awesome remake of Gals Panic (which was a remake of Qix) called Gal Pani X. Not strictly a remake but a nice addition to the fun series, me wuv dis very muchly :)

Elliott Productions are chuffed as nuts to present a remake of Space Invaders called “Invasion Force Turbo“. With a name like this I’m sure bonified goodness is within our very clammy grasps. As a news poster I am delighted to tell you what this remake features… Firstly, smooth as a baby’s bottom graphics. Secondly we have Addictive and fun gameplay, oh yes we doooo and thirdly, Frenetic action!

The mysterious Lysozyme (remind me to ask Flynn why this guy is so mysterious) has 4 remakes on offer:

all most certainly worth a spin. Enjoy!

Apologies to anyone who’s found themselves joining the forum and couldn’t post. It would appear that we had a “quirk” with the database and the email confirmations weren’t clearing properly, meaning quite a few of you would have found yourself unable to post upon registering.

Sorry about that. Should be fixed now.

Its full of blue.

As you’ve probably noticed by now if you’re reading this, there’s a couple of new arrivals on the RR frontpage. The most blatantly obvious one being that whacking great blue donations button across the way.

As many of the regulars were already aware, when we took over RR we were under the impression that due to various things Tokes had implemented - the site broke even and paid for itself. As we rapidly found out, this wasn’t the case and for many years RR has been entirely paid for by Tokes out of his own pocket and at great expense. Its only now that its really starting to sink in just how much cash and time and effort Tokes ploughed into keeping this site up, on the web and ensuring it remains independant and advertisment free.

Now, before anyone starts thinking we’re in trouble, we might disappear or any of the core beliefs of any of the previous admin teams will be compromised in any way, I’ll categorically state that this will not happen. RR is here to stay, without ad’s, sponsorship and nor will it ever be assimilated into a larger network of sites.

But, running it costs a fair whack of money, and any donations we can raise will help ease off the pain of the monthly bills that RR racks up.

The button is only a temporary thing, and something that we’ve put off as long as we possibly can. By throwing in a bit of cash to the fund, or purchasing a hosting package, you’ll be easing off the stress and worry that comes with running a major site and enabling us to spend more time on improving RR and bringing it into the 21st century with style.

Its never an easy decision to have to ask for help, and I hope that you all understand the reasons why we’re asking.

Cheers all, this is still the best job in the world.
