Roll up, roll up - for the greatest show in town…its the Retro Remakes newsfest!
First up is the ever reliable Retrospec with their latest addition to the Remakes stable. Yes, its a remake of the old Durell classic “Harrier Attack” which might just have been made in Delphi (just guessing, mind). Form an orderly queue for downloading please…
Yes, all you brownlovers can rejoice as the ever faithful to his pet C64 (called Terry), the bebearded Mr Smila, has finished his tribute to the Thalamus classic, Delta. Personally, I think it needs some sound effects to add some icing to the cake - but other than that, its a cracking version of a cracking game. If you care to walk like an egyptian in the direction of the download, please - feel free to do so.
“Just Hit Somebody!”, so said David Letterman in The Hockey Song - which in a BobTM tenuous link brings us onto our next remake. Kevin Dromereksi threw his sticks in my direction to let me know about his remake of Hatrick, entitled WildLands Hockey. Rather nicely, it comes in two shades - one for the Mac and one for the PC. So, if you like it mano et mano - el grabbo!
PJ Crossley has updated his site since I last took a toddle over there with a few new remakes. His Nibbler entertained me for a few hours during last years competition (not every day you hear that, is it?) and I’ll be checking out the latest additions a little later on. Some intriguing stuff awaits the curious - including a version of Kings Valley with a Dr Who theme. Sounds right up my street. Thanks to Ken Parker for the heads up.
Our ever naked and fumbling ex newsposter dropped me a line to inform me of a remake of Jill Of The Jungle. It looks like its progressing nicely and could be one to keep an eye on. (Make sure you take the eye off afterwards though, it might scare the neighbours).
Got any news? Don’t hesitate to click that button up there with “email” on and drop me a line - always glad to hear from you folks out there in Remakes land…
