The dirty half dozen …
Time has come to increase the size of the remakes fold. With RR3 steaming along thru its backend development we have found we no longer have as much time to go searching for news.
As news is the main thing you all come to the site for, we thought we should remedy the matter and to this end have invited news guru D3v14n7 Ch1ld to join the team. Use Dev for short - its easier :s
Some would say its an appointment thats well overdue, I think I would agree on that one. Welcome aboard Dev … now get posting :)
Castle Fu Fighter
Flynn found a rather good trio of Flash games, all available from here. Castlevania, Kung Fu and Street Fighter. I tried out the Kung Fu one and is very classy. You can even download them too !! Nice
weee, me go fast!
Normally I would personally mix a flash remake in with other news, but this Sonic game written using Flash is jaw dropping k !
Very polished with great sound, graphics, playability and retro goodness to while away that hour at work, home or school :D You lubberly lot can view its glory by clicking here :)
Short word of warning - I got a couple of pop ups when visiting the page. But they are worth it if you haven’t got a “blocker” or its not switched on (doh!) then they are well worth the effort of closing for this remake :)
If you need the flash player, or are unsure if you have it or not. Please download using this link.
Many, Many thanks to Bas for the news - respect ^_^

I fly, play remakes in sky
First up, we have Vektor Space. A remake of Light Cycles in 3D. Surprisingly very very good though, the 3D works well which I was unsure off before playing. Features net/lan play and is really great stuff - grab it here [13.7 Mb].
Like baggage? Then you’ll love this klax inspired game called Super Baggage Handler. Written using Blitz Basic and comes with the source code too :) Soooo, what are you waiting for? Come, pick up your baggage [2.4 Mb]
What else have we got? Ahhhhh, a remake of an old C16 title called “Exorcist”. I’ve not played it because it requires a seperate download of “Pandora“, a games library such as DirectX is. Check the remake out here. Its pretty much a pacman clone from what I can see. Also for the Linux and Athene platforms :o)
An online remake of Klax can be played by clicking on the link coming up, don’t blink you’ll miss it … Clicky Me. Features online scores and is a bloody good version written using Flash.
Its Pan Cake day, what?
Firstly, I’d like to voice concern over the lack of “Jif Lemon” adverts in the run up to Pan Cake day. Without these adverts, how am I supposed to know its Pan Cake day ffs !!!
Anyhoo, before I start using the homepage of Remakes as my personal blog, let me tell you about a remake of “The Great Giana Sisters”. Its written in DIV but does work in XP if you use the setup program to say you haven’t got a soundcard. Very nice Graphics and damn fun to play. Grab the power up to see boobies k, W(.)(.)T
Please check out the AKIKO & MINAMI website here.
Heres a cool little flash movie, NOT a remake but is based on Tetris. I like it ^_^
What else have we got? Ahhh, a WIP and a little flash remake - both available at gamextra.com. Worms Breakout 2 looks like it could be very good, I await that with a Wormy bu…. Baited Breath o_O

It took a thousand coffees
TCK and SMILA have teamed up again with this rather awesome remake of Nomad. You can grab it from here - Woo Hoo !
The aim of the game is to defeat Gross, for he has installed magnetrons, heat-seeking missiles and an infinity of equally deadly obstacles. All of which, MUST be CONFRONTED and CONQUERED.
Sound good?? Wait till you play it ^_^
Features online highscores for both “best times” and “best scores”. So if nothing else this should give Nomad a longer shelf life.
The graphics are upto Smilas usually standard, let down only by the lack of pink. Music by the Skaven/Future Crew and highscore code by … well, me actually!
additionally, please note that #remakes IRC channel has moved from EFNET to remakes.ircxpro.com on port 6667. Look forward to seeing you there :)
