Yippee… Luny’s making Pyjamarama ! Head HERE for the wip page AND a demo ! Nice one mate… Looking good.

After some discussion about Flyroads (one of our compo entries) in the forum, Sonic posted this link for everyone. This is a very tasty looking version of SkyRoads called SkyCars. Grab it now !

Heres a page with just a single zip on it. Its a remake of the 1976 arcade game called Seawolf. Not played it yet so can’t comment, but its certainly retro !!

Erm, thats it for now.

Jeroen Groenendaal informed me about his WEBSITE today containing some good shockwave remakes.

Theres Astrosmash based on Astroblast from the Atari and theres Skirmish based on Joust from the Atari. But thats not all, theres also Commander Clean based on Moon Patrol and Monsters based on Monsters From Hell on the dear old Speccy. All play really well and i love this guys graphical style. Very cartoony and bizarre.

From the page:: “R.A.D. is an Action/Realtime strategy game. Your goal is to destroy the enemy headquarters by building units from conquered factories and sending them to the enemy base. The difference between this game and other realtime strategy games is that you don’t control a cursor to select and place units. You control a transporter plane to place the units and you can also transform to go into battle yourself.”

You need to go see this. Click HERE. And thanks to Leon (one of the games authors) for the email. Oh, by the way, its a remake of Herzog-zwei. Personally i’ve never heard of it, but it looks like a cool game.

Sabatical …..

Due to work commitments Flynn is going to be taking a “back seat” around here for a while, although he will still be on IRC and the forum from time to time.

His input will be sorely missed but life sometimes has to come before Retro Remakes, and the site wouldn’t be what it has become today without his help. We wouldn’t have the remakes list for starters, but have no fear as he will still be responsible for the updating of that, if only so the rest of us don’t break it !!

As for the competition, where Flynn was to be 25% of the reviewing team, there has been a slight change. We will be taking the reviews that Flynn has done so far and STompy will be stepping in to review the remainder. So some will be in Engrish and some in Yokel Local dialect.

Once the pressure of work has died down Flynn has promised to review the situation, it doesn’t mean he is leaving the team, simply that he is on sabatical until further notice :)
