Thanks to Scott Haag i can tell you about this new gem. A cool looking and complete Micro Machines remake called Magic Racer. Nice one Scott.

Sascha Willems asked so nicely if i would add this game here that i simply couldn’t refuse and the bonus is it looks like a very cool Bomberman game too. Head HERE to see Napalm Bomber 3D in all its glory. Thanks Sascha.

Using Martin G Bell’s own words… “Currently I’m learning OpenGL in Win32, so to ‘ease’ myself into it I decided to attempt something I’ve wanted to do for years: a reinterpretation of the 16-bit classic ‘Carrier Command’ :)

And just LOOK at those screenshots. Seems to have got a long way since it was only started in January, so this could develop fast and be one to watch…

Oooooh. A cool online Tempest clone called Tempest 1000. Check it NOW !! Plays quite sedately at first but soon gets going.

This game looks rather like a Supercars clone or micro machines etc… Mostly like Supercars though, which is a GOOD thing. I’m d/loading this baby now !! But whats it called and where is it i hear you shout? Well, its called Trophy and its found HERE. EDIT// Sadly it aint superb. But check it out anyway. You may enjoy it for a bit…

2nd to last, but not by design, is this great Javascript remake of Manic Miner. Yes, we have plenty already, but this is a clone, is playable online and is quite accurate. Although it is still wip. Go see.

And finally (Don’t miss this) is a game called Double. This is an online java remake of Loopz, plays superbly and is sure to hook you instantly. I’m off to play it some more now !!

Hows about a faithful flash version of IK+ ? Yes ? Well look HERE for this cool online playable remake. Its work in progress, but its really good so far !

Now a Streets of Rage remake. I try to be unbiased when i write but i hate this type of arcade horizontal scrolly beatemup game. Also, the games screenshot didn’t load so i couldn’t even see what it looks like… But, well, take a look if its your cup of tea…

Booty got a dev update the other day, and due to some PC probs i’ve failed to post it till now. Well, HERE is the link to the good news. We may be playing this one soon !!

Deviant Child informed us of this one, and it looks pretty neat. AMJU is a 3D Chu Chu Rocket clone. Never played the original, but from what i can tell its kinda a cross between “a whole new ball game” and “sokoban”. Neato…

Now some stolen news. Space Invaders in 3.6.0. degrees. Another nice game to try out !

enjoy

Just 3 for today.

Theres a heap of news at the Archon: Evolution site with entries to the dev diary, and some new menu screenshots (which are very cool btw). Go see them NOW !!

Necrotech Warfare is based on Laser Squad but is done in a Doom3D style. Its still turn based though and looks to be developing nicely. Check this one out too…

Lastly we have been informed (thanx Jim) that Sonic Robo Blast 2 has reached a critical stage. The guy that has been writing it for the last 5 years has decided to throw in the towel. But, before he departs he has released a Final Demo version. Its basically a complete engine thats just missing some levels. Definately one to download !! Rather large, but worth it… Off you go then ;-)) btw - be sure to get the latest patches too for this one. Cheerio…

My parting shot ….

As I leave for a well earned break in Amsterdam tomorrow (oops did I remember to tell Flynn ??), I have with my little French pal decided to post a shitload of new remakes for you to pour over.

I am away until the 1st July so if anyone wants anything done then u best send email to Hitm4n, Flynn or En1gma because I will NOT be checking mail.

We already have five entries for the competition with many more promised, and from some of the stuff I have seen its going to do the world of remakes no harm at all !!

Right lets get this show on the road …

First up is a remake of Barbarian from TDB Soft, its in final bug testing mode and nothing is available to download.

Anyone for another remake of La Abadia Del Crimen, its a game I cannot knock cos I have never played it. It’s a very early win32 tech demo, with only 4 colours and many bugs but you can download it here if you like.

OK, you budding TV execs will like this next one, Mad TV, a remake of a Rainbow Arts game where you managed the schedules at a TV station, the idea is to make your TV channel the biggest and best.

How’s about an Open GL remake of Pang, well if thats your sort of thing then you will love Super Ball Smasher from the guys at TSRrevolution. The website promises “30 levels with diversified environments and growing difficulty”, I am about to download this one now so will let you know !

Ramparts is not a game I am familiar with but a remake called Castle Combat is available in both Win32 and Linux flavours. It appears to be a 2 player strategy where you must protect your castle from enemy fire.

Finally, Flynn has also asked me to point out this Columns & Puyo/Puyo hybrid called Magical Feeling. Now I can never make my way round Jap sites so have not been able to find a download link, see if you can do better !!

[edit] Smayds has worked out a link for the above [/edit]

Well thats me signing off, going for a deserved break after all the hard work of moving servers, if some Stoned version of me should login to IRC from an Amsterdam IP address then beware, for it is surely an imposter :)

We’re back …..

Well that didn’t take tooooooo long did it. Here we are back online after less than 48 hours, with 25gb of bandwidth per month to burn. We no longer have the sub domains so the links to the forum and such have changed.

Of course with any big move there could be a problem that we haven’t spotted, so if you find any errors then we would appreciate it if you emailed one of us to say.

Now we have a new home expect exciting new additions to the website in the not too distant future !!

Many thanks to FLYNN and CHAOS for all their help :)

Oh and WELCOME BACK ….

Now here we have a really neat looking clone of Magical Drop from the Neo Geo called Krystal Drop. The screenshots look excellent, you can download this game from HERE.

Well thats your lot from me for today, go play.
