The Countdown !!
The first Retro Remakes competition is nearly upon us and I should of done this weeks ago but hey who cares !
The wait is over - the fun can begin !!!
Bo Selecta !
Bo has emailed to let us know about his Tetris clone. Its as good or as bad as any Tetris you have played, except this one doesn’t show you what block is coming next so there is no chance to plan ahead.
Despite that it plays well enough. The setup util is a bit dodgy so I suggest you manually unzip the files. Finally watch out for the music cos its a little on the LOUD side.
Anyway I am off to stem the bleeding in my ears ….
Super Mario XP
Well what have we here, its only a really playable Mario game thats all. Its from the team over at CnC Darkside and its called Super Mario XP. Go grab it now, it really is good :)
Super Mario Pac
Matt Verran contacted me to point out his brilliant Jetpac remake, its the old Ultimate hit, with a slight twist and is called Super Mario Pac.
Essentially it is Jetpac, with the graphical inspiration drawn from Super Mario Bros, and it plays bloody well.
Promotion ….
OK so YOU read the site and know about the competition and between us we have all done our bit to promote it, but oddbob0 has come up with an idea we could all help with …. check out this thread in our forum and see what you can do to help.
Remember the rules will be available on June 1st, unless our itchy fingers force us to do a “Big Brother” and release them earlier.
If you can think of ANYWHERE this competition should be promoted then please respond on the forum and wherever possible undertake the task of promotion yourself. We need, and appreciate, any help in making this the BIGGEST remake competition of ALL time :)
At the end of the day we will all be winners !
