Head over Heels 3
As well as the Spanish sub standard (IMHO) and the Retrospec version, I have been advised of a third remake of the Ocean and Jon Ritman fave, Head over Heels.
This version is written in Blitz Basic and is the FIRST remake by a coder called Syoxy. Sadly he has no website or anywhere to host it so he has asked us to host it exclusively here at Retro Remakes. Of course we had no hesitation at all !!
From what I have played so far it appears to be an accurate remake of the original. Syoxy assures me that all 300 original rooms are here. Having been fortunate enuff to test the Retrospec version I feel that Graham’s graphics are FAR superior but I would have to play a full version to compare authenticity.
That’s not taking anything away from Syoxy’s remake which can be downloaded here, but then you have to judge that for yourselves.
Sadly Syoxy has said he has no more ideas for remakes, but given the quality of this remake and his apparent ability for remakes I am sure people could add to THIS thread with their own ideas !!!
Syoxy is surely a remaker to watch out for !!!

Just to keep your apetite up, here is another screenie from the lastest COMPLETED Head over Heels level being developed by the team from Retrospec.
As release gets closer the authors have approached Jon Ritman, the games original programmer back in the Speccy days, he says he loves the remakes and has no problem with it being released. More news as we get it.

Castlevania 4 Kids
Akuji is a Castlevania remake, aimed at kids more than us old uns. Not as menacingly gothic as the original but a nice remake all the same. Pity all the text is in Jap and I ain’t got a clue whats going on :p
Anyway the website for the game is here but due to the LHA compression used I have repacked it and uploaded it here on the Retro Remakes server.

OK it looks as if I am wrong about this being a remake of Castlevania. The source from where I found the link said it WAS. Having never been a fan of the series how was I to know different … the game has now been removed.
