Welcome to the “new” style Retro-Remakes! I’m currently in the process of re-writing every single page on this site to make it more simplistic, easier for you to read, easier for you to follow, easier for me to update and with reduced loading times as a bonus! Though admittedly it may not be as pretty as the last incarnation, the new RR is more streamlined… it was starting to become a gargantuan nightmare updating this site because of it’s size, AND because of the garbled HTML source but now I’ve nipped that in the arse it’s much better now - this main page for instance is a full 35K smaller than the previous index!!!
The screenshots have been dropped from the alpha-listings because of the sheer size of a few of them… ‘S’ was a nightmare to download! The screenshots will stay in the remake listings no matter what size they become, if they do become too large I’ll just split the page in two.
The forums will always be online so if you have any comments about the redesign or would like to participate in a current discussion then hop on over there. I answer all questions put to me on the messageboard, I get so many emails I don’t usually bother answering now unless your someone I know…
Any new remakes news will be reported as it comes but many downloads and pages will not be online until the page is done…. be patient! :o)

More remakes today! Here’s a few courtesy of Kojote[NL]who mailed me the links.. cheers d00d!
Pacman4K, obviously a remake of Puckman!…
GBAtet, a cool Tetris remake for the Gameboy Advance, with graphics by Kojote himself!…
Mines v1.1, a Mined Out remake again for the Gameboy Advance…
Nipples(!!!!!), a quite excellent but extremely tiny remake of Blockade…
Dr Mario, a superb remake of Nintendo’s Arcade classic…& M-Type, an unreal R-Type remake for the Gameboy Advance!…
I recommend you give Kojote’s site a visit because there are literally *hundreds* of freeware rom’s for your download pleasure!
I’ve got a lot of other stuff to add but that will have to wait until tomorrow… the stuff I’ve added today should keep you going for a while at least. Or not judging by some of the mails I’ve received in the past :o)

Not a lot happening today, I’ve been busy at home cleaning up and not much else apart from killing with intent via EDGE. I’m also working on a new section that will be launched in the New Year hopefully so that’s been taking a little of my time too. I’ve been quite busy with other area’s of the site as well so I’ve had to divide my time up so I’m not stuck behind the keyboard all day getting a fat arse… I’ve not trained with my weights for a good two months so it’s time I pulled my finger out of my backside and got on and made some sweat. As I type this I feel the urge to injure myself even more :o)

I received a mail from Paul Jenkinson in which he says his remake of Subterranean Stryker is now finished! Any good then? Well let’s put it this way you can be sure I’ll be hammering this one for the next few days! Huge thanks to Paul himself for the info, and for a f**king excellent remake :o)[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Yves Rizoud’s excellent remake of Vigilante has been updated, there are now a few more moves in gameplay: flying punch, back kick, and whirlwind kick. Which is nice.[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Retrospec have a new game in the works, Ignacio Perez Gil is giving Sweevo’s World a makeover… if it’s as good as his Deflektor remake then we’re in for a treat! Thanks to Neil Walker for the hint…[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Jetpak has been updated again, as there is no indication of even a version number never mind a whatsnew.txt don’t even try to ask me what is new - ‘cos I don’t know![NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Woohoo! I’ve just taken out a 32MB PC66 Dimm and another 64MB PC100 Dimm (yes it did work :o)) from my machine and replaced them with a brand spanking new 256MB PC100 DIMM and everything is running sooooooooo much more smoothly, it almost feels like a new machine :o) I’ve got all my apps running (Dreamweaver, Corel Photopaint, HyperSnapDX, Opera, Mozilla, ZoneAlarm, ICQ, IamC, Guidescope, Bullet Proof FTP, SpeedUp, CoolPlayer…) and still have 135MB to play with! Tho’ once I start testing using it all that’ll change - Windoze with more memory…. :o/[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Another new section! Super Hang-On! Am I on remake steroids or what? I must be, I’ve been up since four this morning with the spawn of the devil ::ahem:: sorry Jordan my little ‘un, bless him![NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Added a passable Space Invaders clone, Sinvader…[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]I’ll be on IRC tonight, and will be mod’ing the messageboards[NL]from around 7PM - 12AM GMT… the missus is working all night, I hate TV, I gave all my books away, so the ‘net it is!

I hate that f**king egg, you know that loathsome Dizzy character that Codemaster’s spawned back in the late 80’s but if I find remakes of it I’ll add them here. So we have a few Dizzy remakes: Wibble World Giddy for the Amiga, Dizzy’s Greatest Adventure for Windows and a teaser of Dizzy - The Ultimate Cartoon Adventure, again for Windows… Can I throw this sick bag away now? >:o)[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Here’s a couple of Pong clones… stop yawning at the back now! Bounce, Pong (clever title this one :o)), and Spong - all for the Gameboy[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]…not much else to report today, I’ve been busy nursing my broken toe :o)[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]…a quick plug while I’m doing nothing, I installed some forums for this site which seem to be running very well with some good input from remake peeps both famous and not so, check ‘em out and see what you think…
Monday 19th *cough* November 2001
I’ve remembered the month we’re in this time ;o) Didn’t I tell you lot I do fifty things at once cack-handedly instead of doing one thing at once properly? :o/ Mind you yesterday I worked on my brothers bands site cleaning it up (not the html source mind!), got his guestbook up-and-running, got the forums here up-and-running and worked on my guestbook[NL](I HATE STYLESHEETS! ARRGHH!) all at the same time and finished it all in under three hours! I’m quick but er yes I’m quick =o)[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Of all the damn f**king stupid things to do… what have I done? Broken my f**king big toe! We’re hella busy at work and on Friday I got promoted from part to full time and I do something as stupid as this! What a dick! I jumped over my bags in the dining room and landed like a ballet dancer in the kitchen right on my big toe… **crack** went my big toe… and swear? God swear did I… along with some suitable synchronised rolling about in agony on the kitchen floor. Now what do I do with my time off? =o)[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]A new section! Berzerk![NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Whoa! This is amazing! Jumping Jack for the Gameboy Advance by none other than Craig Rothwell, who made the Gameboy and PC versions too! Must be a fan…[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]cozza updated Jetpac PC to add the hover button which obviously makes you hover! cozza also mentions he’s thinking about doing up Atic Atac! He says he’s mucking around with the code to draw the rooms at the moment, but it’s not yet decided whether to go for it…[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Here’s a few Mined Out remakes: Minesweeper for Gameboy and Mineclearer…[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Last addition for today, Jetpak DX for the Gameboy Colour!______________________________________________________[NL]I’ve tracked down the elusive(?) Tero Turtiainen of the Retrospec team who started work on a Cybernoid remake called ‘Xybernoid‘ quite some time ago - listed here already obviously - and has now finally declared the project dead! …after 2 years![NL]Over to Tero himself… “Well, it hasn’t been updated, because I have stopped working on it. I had too little time and there was another Cybernoid-remake in the making. You are right, it would be nice if I updated the www-page to tell about the death of the project :)”[NL]Straight from the horses mouth… you heard it here first! Now lets find out where Borgar Waade skulked off to ;o)[NL]______________________________________________________[NL]Last item of the day (night?) is music related. I received a mail from an indie rock guitarist who’s into classic gaming who goes by the name of Jukka Tarkainen. He mailed to say he’s published a record and a video which have been inspired by classic video game music. There are MP3’s and a video and a few other bits available from Desertplanet.com if your interested… Cheers to Jukka for the mail, I’ll check that out when I’ve got time :o)
