Well thank bugger for that, Halloween over at least for another year. I was beating them goddamned trick-or-treaters from the door with a shitty stick - scabby little bastards, using it as a bloody excuse for a free meal… or am I just a grumpy sod? :o)

I’ll stop whining now and add a few games…

New additions…

Cheese Quest for DOS

Rally Racers for Windows

MicroCars for Windows

Jumping Frog for Windows

Rock Rush Xmas Edition for DOS (Chrimble edition of RockRush!)

Donkey Kong for Amiga

New update…

Subhunt v1.3 for DOS

New section…

The PSX classic, Wipeout!

Oops, another error found and rectified. I accidentally named the author of the Vigilante remake as one Paul Siramy when in fact Yves Rizoud did all the hard work. Apologies to Yves and thanks to Paul for the mail!

Sorry about this but I had to get it off my chest…

Windows XP. LOL!. Another Microsoft beta gets another public testing… christ 95/98/98SE/ME/2000/NT and now XP - all within the space of six years. Whatever will be next?. I’m still using DOS and Windows 95 after all this time using software that does the job I want it to without any problems. I don’t have any hassle running the games on this site apart from the OpenGL ones and that is due to my crappy 4 year old gfx card and not the OS. Yet another reason to give ‘ole Billy-Boy the firm middle finger and say enough is enough. I only wish the OEM’s would see it the same way.

Money grabbing bastards.

Marco Pinto and Robert Bergstrm of the SpecNG team mailed to say that their remake of Three Weeks In Paradise is now 100% playable!

Here’s a few words from Robert…

“In this version you can play the game from start to end, all puzzles, enemies, objects and locations are present. All graphics have been remade and four specially written tunes is included (Mp3).

The game is 100% playable and 100% solvable.

Why Beta?

Well, we don’t think this as the final version, we plan to enhance it later on with graphics, sounds and coding.

The file is a 20MB download, but is a setup file, which will extract files instead of one executable. That means we can update files in patches.

The game will also be on a coverdisc of the 18th issue of PC Utilities, coming out the 22th of November”

Well what are you waiting for? You don’t have to buy the f**king magazine to get it do you? :o)

November’s Pick of the Month is a little early but so what?

LOL! I’ve deleted the link to the Crazy Marbles homepage because it links to some sort of pr0n site! Some people will do anything for money…

cozza of the Rebelstar Spectrum site mentioned that after a 3 month delay he’s now restarting work on his Trans-Am and Jetpac remakes! Keep your eyes peeled….

Added a superb, and I do mean superb Artillery clone called ”Pocket Tanks‘… created by the man who programmed DX-Ball no less!

I’m off on my travels now, I may pop into IRC (server top left of this page) for a while but don’t count on it… I’m babysitting my youngest son tonight so anything could happen (and it usually does with kids!)

Amiga day today, nothing but Amiga stuff. If your not an Amiga fan then you may as well f**k off! ;o)

Now follows quite a large list …Beasties (Worms)

Lazy Mines (Mined Out)

George and the Repton Clone (Repton)

Scud Buster (Missile Command)

Llamatron (Robotron)

Fleuch (Thrust)

Top Hat Willy (Jet Set Willy)

SuperBallz (Marble Madness)

Banger Racers (Sprint 2)

Take The Money (Boulderdash)

Mother Lode (Loderunner)

Blitz Bombers (Bomberman)

Temptris (Tetris)

To The Moon (Lunar Lander)

Pong (Pong)

WB Pacman (Puckman)

Before I toddle off I’m going to do all you over-bloated Winamp users a favour and point you in the direction of an MP3 player that’s only 300K! Coolplayer is the dogs testicles and deserves more exposure…. I only heard of it on the off chance. If like me all you want is an MP3 player/playlist editor and nothing else then this is for you. If you want more options and more system resources hogged then stick with Winamp. Perhaps they should rename it Whineamp, the newer version crashed my machine more than Opera!!!

ps… the Links bit of this page has changed slightly, due to certain sites giving me the elbow I’m not linking to them anymore. If you want a link, link back to me… if I’ve not linked to your site and you’ve linked to mine or you want to do a mutual back scratch then mail me. You don’t have to be an emulation site or remakes site or whatever just link here and I’ll link back!

*UPDATE* I’m setting up a remakes mailing list that will mail remakes news and site updates from the previous month on the 1st (2nd? 3rd? 4th? :o) ) of every month. To sign up for this list click here and “send”, to unsubscribe see the mailing list bit at the top left of this page

Spacy Vaders has been completed! …and rather groovy it is too, very accurate to the original. Thanks to the author Leigh Prosho for the news

Added Geetris, a Tetris remake with a twist…

Fancy playing Columns through your browser? Gem Master is an excellent clone which works with either IE4+ or Netscape 5+, it doesn’t work with Opera and I’m not too sure about Mozilla… be warned though, this game is a pain in the arse to uninstall if your not “up with the techie stuff” though I’ve included instructions on how to uninstall in the archive itself :oP

Added Sssnake, a decent Blockade clone…

Righty ho, I’m off to play on Unreal online for a bit (GameSpy users search for [JJ] :o) )… I don’t play remakes all the time you know!

I take one day off and what happens? Instead of the usual 200 hundred or so visitors we get battered with nearly 2000 hits in a single day! Thanks to Wired.com for the link, I’m sure our web-hosts are thanking you very much :o)

I’m not going to introduce myself or my site to anyone that’s new it’s all self-explanatory and anyone who takes offence at either me or the content I produce can go f**k themselves and go elsewhere. Except there is no elsewhere like here, here is unique! haha!

…on with it then… AxySnake (Blockade), Bugatron (Galaga), Castles (Worms), and Dungeon Master Java (er) have all been updated.

DM Java because of the size of the main download (11MB) has had patches released, just download the main archive (v1.0) and extract each patch in succession over the main directory. That’s all that’s required to install the patches.

Added a cool Worms remake called NiM-2, anyone who remembers Liero (we’re not worthy!!!) will love what this new remake has to offer!… I’ve also added an excellent remake of Q*Bert for the Gameboy Colour

On with it then…. oh before I start I’ll use my manners and give a plug to Richard Jordan’s excellent Spectrum Graphics Editor which I used to rip the characters to add to my brand new logo. Shame it won’t colour them in for me ;o) I’ve not yet found a C64 graphics/sprite ripper, can anyone point me in the right direction for one?

Added Crazy Marbles, an excellent Marble Madness remake for OpenGL & Glide flavoured systems. I much prefer the Glide version of this game…

Worm 2000 has been updated to v1.14, whats new? I don’t know!

Yet another excellent Depthcharge remake - Sub Hunter. Everyone of these remakes is a bloody good game… or is it just an impossible game to f**k up? :o)

Want to play the best remake of Space Invaders that I’ve seen? Play InvaderX then… f**king awesome stuff

Chocolatris! Tetris in only 22 calories… sorry 22K :o) Requires vbrun300.dll

A bloke by the name of Peter Fischel got in touch to offer his own Frogger remake by the name of ‘Hopper‘. I’ve never been a fan of Frogger, actually I f**king hate it but Peter’s game seems one of the more polished attempts to hand some life to that sorry looking pile of shit… ;o) apologies to faint hearted readers (or Frogger fans), I’ve never been one to mince my words…

I’ve lots more stuff here but I’ve got a life as well so hard poo you’ll have to wait :o)
