Ta Da! Well hello again and welcome to Retro-Remakes at our new host, the excellent Emulators Unlimited!
For first time visitors a bit of history is needed methinks… a very quick istory….
Site started May 2000, reason Borgar’s Remakes.wax.nu stopped.Moved to A@H July 2000. Site stopped February 2001, Reason - Kiddie on the way. Overreaction - Yes. Site re-started June 2001, Reason - Too much free time… :o) Well where are the f**king downloads then? Er… I’m working on that at the moment, but for now please be patient and visit the links instead… the binaries version of the site should be completed for around October fingers crossed. Patience is a virtue dear boy!

It’s been a busy month for yours truly, sorting stuff out and such… now on with the news
Sad news indeed for the remakes world, John Dow one of my favorite remake authors who programmed gems such as Cookie PC, Pssst PC, GalYakSians and others to critical acclaim is quitting the Retrospec team because of whining lamers hassling him. Visit the Retrospec link above for the full story… lets hope he carries on programming remakes for us all to enjoy….
A new remake of the excellent C64 classic Bruce Lee is in progress. Go here for the news. Thanks to Arturo Tuya for the tip.
A new Asteroids remake has been programmed by Robsoft. Get it here. Thanks again to Arturo Tuya for the news
A Monty Mole remake *finished*!! Monty On The Run PC is a quite awesome remake that passes more than a nod and a wink to the guys at Retrospec. Cheers Gordon King!
Three Weeks In Paradise has been updated, looking rather cool!… Many thanks to Marco Pinto…
More news soon(ish) :o)
Monday 6th August 2001
Well hello again I’ve got quite a lot of news to catch up on so here we go…
I’ve found a new host, I’m not going to announce it yet because I haven’t sorted out all of the details but I won’t be paying for it myself as I’ll be hosting ad’s as before. I hope this doesn’t offend too many people because trying to find a server that will host 500MB+ of binaries is *extremely* difficult. If anyone has read the dreaded “Terms and Conditions” of any potential webhost it’s a wonder there is anything available for download anywhere! The threat of being taken offline due to excessive bandwidth usage was too great to risk. So that’s the hosting sorted (with who? :o) ), binaries will be available for download in around 1-2 months…
Now onto the new remakes… Gordon King got in touch to tell me his Lazy Jones remake has been updated to the final version. Get it while it’s hot! As a side note I stumbled upon remakes of Monty Mole and Nodes of Yesod from the same author!!! I must have been pissed when I last visited his site to have missed them! Click the same link as above to get your mitts on them.
Paul Jenkinson author of the 3D Luna Crabs remake “Luna Crabs 2001″ mailed me to say he’s starting work on a remake of the Speccy game Subterranean Stryker… Obscure remakes rule!!!
Thanks to Matthew Clemson for letting me know about some new (and I have to say extremely good) remakes… XRick is a port of a Rick Dangerous remake - which was originally a Linux release - and it rocks rather spiffily. There’s no sound implemented but I hope to see it soon :o) There is also a remake of Hewson’s awesome Nebulus at the site above too!!! Nebulous is it’s name and “f**king amazing” is what I think of it. Nuff said!
Kakarot has returned to the land of remakers!!! Welcome back dude, where the f**k were you hiding? Anything to do with that Green Beret remake for the Gameboy you programmed??? I lost my beta, any chance of another :o) Big thanks to Arturo Tuya for the news
