      <description><![CDATA[I know a lot of people are working on stuff that they don't post about since maybe there's not much to say or it's too early and maybe dropped. This is to allow you to post anything to do with what you're coding, as much or as little as you like.<br /><br />I'm currently making a start-up program that let's the user pick the input method (Standard, Headtracker, Oneswitch or Onekey). That program is part of finally getting round to creating a way to let the user tweak settings. So they can change things like the mouse dwell time for headtracker input. And that's part of updating Sniper City to have Onekey support (I kinda get sidetracked in making reusable framework stuff whenever I code).]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[Hi guy's, after 6 months off doing anything musical, ive finally got my finger out and I have returned to the stage. Been flicking through all my favourite sites over that time and watched quietly as games have been made, jokes thrown and custard eaten .. and played alot of BF3 (metro meatgrinding ftw!) .. so how have you all been? <br /><br />Game music wise I dont really have the time as such which is a shame, but I'll slowly be building up a portfolio of tunes I'll never use that will be placed on my soundcloud which you'll be free to use if you so require, "should" be substantial by around this time next year.. which I know doesnt help now but my producing like a machine day's are definitely over, not enough time in the day and when your doing 5am to 8:45pm shifts bed seems to be all the more welcoming lol.<br /><br />Anyway.. back i am, pleased maybe you are, happy am i. ]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[I couldn't find a thread specifically like this already, so thought I'd create one - just for idle chat about whatever games you are currently playing through.<br /><br />Alan Wake (PC) - looks nice, but I am stuck on the same bit in Ep.2 on Normal mode where I keep dying in the forest - not enough bullets to shoot my way through, die if I go back, die if I try to run or dodge... can't restart the whole episode or change difficulty without quitting. Very annoying.<br />Treasure Adventure (PC) - is lovely!<br />Legends of Grimrock (PC) - looks like what Dungeon Master would look like in my imagination when I was a kid.<br />]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[Hello, since someone expressed an interest in my project I thought I'd start a thread on it.<br>Yes this is still under development, I've not spent as much time on it as I've wanted as other things have been getting in the way but I've now got an actual game mode. Head can walk and jump from room to room, ride on lifts, teleport etc. and has a skinned (badly) animated mesh, but he's currently immortal as I haven't put dying in yet (need a good effect for death, probably particle-based)<br>Heels does nothing much at the moment, and looks just like Head cos I haven't modelled him yet. You can't switch characters yet anyway, I haven't got round to implementing it.<br>Technology-wise it's written in C++. I'm using OGRE for 3D graphics, my own libs for sound (using PortAudio and libvorbis) and key/joystick/mouse input, scons for building it, and Blender for modelling the meshes.<br><br>Having trouble with the collision system at the mo, it's simple axis-aligned bounding box stuff but there are a load of corner cases which don't work sensibly; you can "climb" walls but get stuck walking into the room across blocks.<br>Currently I'm allowing objects to temporarily penetrate (shut up at the back) but then running a collision resolution step where I push them apart just enough. I just push the player outwards by the shortest distance required to separate them. This is simple but breaks in the cases I mentioned before, ie when falling next to two blocks stacked on top of each other, you can push into them and the lower block pushes you upwards rather than outwards; this causes the "climbing" bug. Anyone here have a good suggestion to solve this?<br><br>Anyway here's a screenshot of one of the annoying L-shaped rooms; these have made my design significantly more complicated than it needed to be!
